David R.
While working at his house one day, David’s knee gave out. He fell backward and landed on concrete, breaking his left femur and sustaining a unilateral hip fracture. He also began to experience severe abdominal pain.
Prior to his injuries, David was active. He worked at John Deere and had his own shop. Before returning to his busy life, David required several hospital stays. First, he admitted to Schenck Hospital in Seymour before transferring to IU Methodist. Finally, David transferred to Southern Indiana Rehabilitation Hospital for intensive therapy.
“All the therapists here at SIRH have really helped me get back on my feet with intensive therapy every day so that I can regain my strength,” David said. “Everyone here is great, and I will be going home after just two weeks of being here. I appreciate how much the therapy strengthened me each day.”
